Improving Teaching Skills

Posted on April 23, 2014 at 8:17 am

Teaching skills are often integral part of a job, and this can be the case for a number of reasons. This is apparent as most of what teaching skills are, is public speaking. Being able to educate people can be useful, whether that is the function of your position, or perhaps you just need to offer some training to a more junior employee. Either way, making an active effort to understand and fulfil your role as the educator is the only way to gain success.

There are a variety of ways for you to improve your teaching skills, such as paying for a short course, so that you can get in-depth training, or even just reading a book about how to best go about it. The most accessible training courses largely revolve around learning how to lecture better, but this might be abetter fit for what you are hoping to learn. So, whether your position is just that you need to occasionally train junior employees, or if you offer a learning course in some subject, then making a concerted effort to better go about it may be right for you.

Cover Letter

Posted on April 22, 2014 at 10:50 am

A cover letter is your potential employers first introduction to who you are. It is an important part of your CV, being the bit which provides a bit of an overview of what has attracted you to them, what you can offer them, and a little about what motivates and interests you about the job opportunity.

A cover letter is an often overlooked part of your CV, but, depending upon the job you’re applying for, you could see its level of importance increase drastically. Its relevance can vary wildly, largely depending upon who is reading the CV. If for instance, the position you’re applying for has a a lot of competition, the person reviewing the CV won’t want to spend too much time on yours, so limiting the information you’ve provided to stuff which is strictly relevant to your job application. Even in these cases though, giving the person an option to find out a bit more about yourself may be the right choice. Providing a short cover letter, between one paragraph and one page, may be your best option.

Writing A Good CV

Posted on March 25, 2014 at 9:37 am

When looking for a job, your CV is the first introduction that your potential employer will have to you, therefore it is very important. Obviously, lying on your CV, while it may help you get a job, if you get found out it can damage your position, and make it harder to seek future employment; it may potentially even result in a lawsuit or prosecution, depending upon the profession. Writing a honest CV is a must. This does not mean that you can’t elaborate more on some of the better traits you have. To right a CV, you should include all of your qualifications, and work experience. You must remember to spell check, and write a good report on your professional history. Good English is an important part of any non-labour job, and demonstrating that in your CV can help you to get the job. Demonstrating the opposite can severely hamper your job prospects. You are allowed to right in a charming manner, but the goal of the CV must be to write about things which are relevant to them, and not pad it out with too much waffle.
