For most people in this situation, they are moving company looking for better opportunities. This initiative by itself bodes well for most employers, but also, most people who are good at the work they do are already in employment.

For a person already in employment, looking for new employment, one thing to make sure of before you quit your job is that you have a firm offer of a new job before you quit your current one. For many business owners, getting you to quit your job would give them more leverage in the negotiations, so keeping your job until you have an offer is a good way of keeping the leverage on your side.
